Job summary

The Stanford Cancer Institute’s Clinical Trials Office (SCI-CTO) is seeking a Clinical Research Manager 2 in Thoracic Oncology for a hybrid work arrangement. Reporting to an Associate Director, the CRM2 will oversee clinical research across thoracic oncology and related groups, driving high quality and efficient trial conduct.

Candidates should have seven years of direct clinical research experience with management experience; oncology experience and hospital/clinic settings are preferred.

Qualifications

• 7 years of direct clinical research experience or equivalent
• Management experience required
• Oncology experience preferred
• Hospital/clinic setting experience preferred
• Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical research for the Thoracic oncology CRG and other assigned CRGs.
• Hire, orient, train, and conduct performance reviews for staff handling research administration activities.
• Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage across teams of study coordinators.
• Audit operations and ensure regulatory compliance; lead corrective actions and process improvements.
• Monitor workflows to ensure best practices and efficiency.
• Provide leadership in achieving CRG goals, including trial accruals and growth.
• Manage and track research program financial status with detailed reports for leadership.
• Engage in outreach and represent the program to internal and external audiences.
• Analyze recruitment trends and develop standardized reporting for success metrics.
• Contribute to data analysis and preparation of manuscripts and scientific presentations.
