Ensure the proper supply of materials from the TPM or to AbbVie’s Third-Party Customer and manage commitments stipulated in the applicable contracts.

Provide leadership for assigned accounts, including compliance, regulatory updates, capacity planning, cost reductions and control, delivery performance and contract management. With input from the manager, negotiate contract extensions and new contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact between AbbVie and Third-Party Customers or Third-Party Manufacturers. Travel to TPM/TPC sites and build productive working relationships, including an understanding of the TPM’s capabilities and/or customer needs.

  • Ensure contract commitments are fulfilled by both parties, and resolve issues when they are not. Engage the appropriate AbbVie resources as needed.
  • Assess TPM capacity against long-range plan (LRP) forecasts to determine whether strategic objectives can be met. Proactively communicate concerns to the appropriate organizations.
  • Identify opportunities to in-source or out-source products to maximize benefit to AbbVie, as well as opportunities to consolidate work among TPMs.
  • Work with appropriate AbbVie functions to negotiate new and extended contracts. Ensure performance metrics are clearly established and included in contract terms, and that contracts align with strategic business objectives.
  • Maintain Third-Party Contract information in the applicable contract manufacturing database(s). Track key dates and milestones and ensure they are met or executed.
  • Identify TPMs for new and existing products. Support new product launches and transfers, including pharmaceutical products, combination products and medical devices. Provide key forecasting information to TPMs and ensure launch plans can be met.
  • Develop and maintain a TPM Capability and Due Diligence Database. Maintain worldwide expertise on TPM technology, performance, benefits, limitations and capacity, including capabilities relevant to combination products and medical devices.
Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in a combination of the following areas: Manufacturing, Program Management, Materials Management, Logistics, QA, Marketing, Business Development or Engineering.
  • Experience supporting combination products and/or medical devices is preferred; medical device experience is particularly valued.
  • Demonstrated success in financial analysis, negotiations and project management.
