Job summary

MRP Solutions in Twinsburg, OH seeks a Thermoplastics Packaging Equipment Technician to start up, run and optimize packaging equipment for injection-molded closures and lids. You’ll follow standard work, perform basic troubleshooting, ensure GMP and food safety standards, and support shift handoffs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, experience operating manufacturing machinery, and comfort with basic computer scanning tech; strong safety and 5S mindset welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and standardized work.
  • Basic understanding of QC practices.
  • Comfort with hand tools and basic computer/scanning technology.

Responsibilities

  • Start up machines, set parameters, and tweak settings to elevate performance.
  • Run molding, packaging, and related equipment by following standard work and visual instructions.
  • Pinpoint issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and request maintenance when needed.
  • Execute inspections, complete records correctly, and elevate quality deviations.
  • Own your safety: follow all procedures, maintain housekeeping, and practice 5S.
  • Package to work-order specs with accurate labels and counts.
  • Apply standardized work to cut downtime and enable smooth changeovers.
  • Reference SDS and adhere to regulated material requirements.
  • Support smooth shift-to-shift handoffs with clear communication.
  • Immediately communicate equipment, safety, or quality concerns.

Thermoplastics Packaging Equipment Technician

What you’ll tackle

Food safety-non-negotiable
  • Verify that maintenance and production work meets food safety and quality standards.
  • Follow food safety and QA procedures; keep documentation complete and accurate.
  • Restore all product-contact surfaces to sanitary condition after work.
  • Report incidents or failures that could affect food safety and file an incident report.
Safety expectations
  • Speak up about unsafe behaviors or conditions and help implement improvements.
  • Identify safety gaps and take corrective action.
  • Adhere to plant safety rules, housekeeping, and 5S.
  • Recognize and correct hazards quickly.
  • Promote a culture of ownership and accountability.
Bring these qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Preferred experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and standardized work.
  • Basic understanding of QC practices.
  • Comfort with hand tools and basic computer/scanning technology.
Physical capabilities
  • Sit/stand, talk/hear in person and by phone; use hands/arms to operate controls and reach.
  • Stand/walk for extended periods up to 12 hours.
  • Stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
