Job summary

Amcor is hiring for a production packing and inspection role on a 2-2-3 straight night shift. Pay starts at $19–$20 per hour plus a $0.50 night shift premium, with overtime and Sunday pay at 1.5x. The role emphasizes adherence to safety, GMP, and 6S, along with efficient packing and accurate hourly checks.

The candidate will support production lines by packing, inspecting parts, and following customer and Amcor specifications. Weekend availability may be required to meet production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety and GMP guidelines and 6S practices.
  • Inspect thermoformed parts for visual defects before packaging.
  • Review packing specifications prior to shifts or job changes.
  • Perform hourly checks including visual and stack count checks.
  • Assist in machine changeovers and prepare readies as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of packing, chopper, and thermoforming areas.

OVERVIEW

  • Support the production lines by packing and inspecting the final product

SCHEDULE

  • 2-2-3 Straight Night Shift

PAY

  • $19-20/hour+ $.50 night shift premium
  • x1.5 pay for OT and Sundays

DUTIES

  • Follow all safety and 6S guidelines.
  • Do not allow others to work in an unsafe manner.
  • Review all packing specifications prior to the start of your shift, and/or the start of a new job.
  • Perform required hourly checks, including but not limited to – visual and hourly stack count check.
  • Inspect thermoformed parts for visual defects, prior to packaging in keeping with customer and Amcor specifications.
  • Report any malformed, damaged, defective parts to the operator, or assistant.
  • Replace any non-standard parts with good parts within each stack.
  • Place parts/sheet material in proper containers for regrinding.
  • Assist in keeping the thermoforming area clean.
  • Clean chopper, packing area, and thermoforming area during changeovers, 6S, and all other activities as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Sort thermoformed parts as directed by supervisor or Quality Assurance.
  • Perform needed product spec tests, as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist on machine change over and make readies as directed by operator, lead operator, or management.
  • Perform any task as directed by supervisor or his/her designee to support plant operations.
  • Proper hand-sanitation is required when re-entering the packing area.
  • Be familiar with audit processes, tool boards, machine boards, check sheets, etc.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, e.g., work rules, quality, GMP, GFSI, etc.
