Role Description

The Thermal Insulation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Salt Lake City, UT. In this position, the technician installs, repairs, and maintains thermal insulation on pipes, ducts, tanks, and other mechanical systems using appropriate materials and tools. Daily responsibilities include preparing work areas, measuring and cutting insulation, applying coatings and protective finishes, and ensuring proper sealing and fit to meet safety and performance standards. The role requires frequent work at height, use of ladders and scaffolding, and adherence to safety procedures and personal protective equipment guidelines. The technician also documents work performed, supports basic research into materials or methods when needed, participates in training activities, and collaborates with supervisors and team members to complete projects on time and to specification.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in Thermal Insulation installation, repair, and maintenance on mechanical and industrial systems.


• Capability to safely perform work at height, including familiarity with ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection practices.


• Experience applying Coatings and protective finishes to insulated surfaces and related equipment.


• Willingness to participate in ongoing Training and to contribute to practical Research into materials, tools, and installation methods.


• Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and use of personal protective equipment.
