Overview

Oklo is seeking a Thermal-Hydraulics Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and development of fast reactor systems, performing thermal-hydraulics analyses, utilizing state-of-the-art codes and methods, and contributing to qualification and validation of nuclear thermal-hydraulics analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Model thermal-hydraulic systems using codes such as SAS4A/SASSYS-1, SAM, GOTHIC, or Flomaster
• Perform subchannel analysis using codes such as MOOSE-Subchannel or DASSH
• Develop analytical and computational methods and models for core and systems thermal hydraulics
• Participate in verification and validation of nuclear thermal hydraulics analysis tools
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define design requirements and provide technical feedback to quick-iterating design teams
• Document work using modern tools and write well-written, thoughtful technical reports

Minimum Qualifications

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more of the listed analysis codes (SAS4A/SASSYS-1, SAM, GOTHIC, Flomaster, MOOSE-SC, DASSH) or similar (TRACE, RELAP, COBRA-TF)
• Familiarity with methods development, code qualification, and verification/validation in nuclear thermal hydraulics
• Experience with modern software engineering practices and programming languages
• Experience with CI/CD computing environments
• Experience with high-fidelity fluid dynamics analysis
