WSP USA is offering a full-time Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Generation) Intern position in Overland Park, KS, with consideration for Atlanta, GA. Open to undergrad/grad students in a related ME program. This 12-week summer internship starts May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

You will gain hands-on experience, mentor with senior staff, and work on real projects within the Power and Energy Team, contributing to design, research, and documentation while adhering to our Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Mechanical Engineering and desire to contribute to WSP projects.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical, social, and ethical skills through diverse tasks.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
• No relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
