Job summary

SA Technologies Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead end-to-end thermal architecture for consumer electronics and data center platforms using AirJet technologies. This is a hands-on, production-focused role in a startup-like environment, not simulation-only.

You will own CFD modeling, heat transfer design, validation plans, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D and manufacturing to deliver scalable, energy-efficient cooling solutions.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal Sciences.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in thermal design of high-power electronics or data center systems.
• Expertise with CFD tools (ANSYS Icepak, Fluent) or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics (conduction, convection, phase change cooling).
• Proven track record bringing complex cooling solutions to production.

Responsibilities

• Drive thermal architecture leadership for consumer electronics devices, servers, and racks.
• Lead CFD simulations and system modeling to optimize heat sinks, airflow, and ducting designs.
• Guide thermal validation plans using IR thermography, thermocouples, and pressure measurements.
• Perform thermal margin analysis and ensure compliance with derating guidelines and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across R&D and manufacturing to scale best practices.

RoleDescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer who has taken complex thermalsystems from concept through production and understands what it takes to scalein a startup environment. Thisis not a simulation-only role.

We are looking for a Senior ThermalEngineer with a deep understanding of consumer electronics and datacenter thermal design and cooling technologies to lead the development ofnext-generation compute platforms using Client's AirJet technologies. You willdrive end-to-end thermal architecture across consumer electronics platforms, serversand racks, ensuring scalable, energy-efficient, and reliable cooling.

KeyResponsibilities:

• ThermalArchitecture Leadership : Drive thermal coolingstrategies for consumer electronics devices, to meet performance,efficiency, and reliability goals using AirJet technologies.
• CFDand System Modeling : Lead airflow and thermalsimulations using CFD tools at component, system levels. Optimize custom thermalsolution, flow paths, heat sinks, ducting designs.
• ThermalValidation and Testing : Guide thermalvalidation plans, including the use of IR thermography, thermocouples,pressure drop measurements, and flow behavior from acoustics perspective.
• Reliabilityand Margin Analysis : Perform thermal marginanalysis and ensure compliance with derating guidelines, componentlifetime requirements, and ASHRAE standards.
• Mentorship : Mentor junior engineers, review their designs and analyses,and help scale best practices across the organization.
• Cross-FunctionalIntegration : Collaborate closely with R&Dand manufacturing to ensure high quality thermal modules to customers

RequiredQualifications:

• M.S.or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering , Thermal Sciences ,or related field.
• 7+years of hands-on experience in thermaldesign of high-power electronics or data center systems.
• Expertise in CFD tools: AnsysIcepak, Fluent , or equivalent.
• Deepunderstanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics , includingconduction, convection (forced and natural), and phase change cooling.
• Strongtrack record of bringing complex cooling solutions to production, withthermal ownership.
