Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer at Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team onsite. You will develop, analyze, and test space hardware and support equipment across antennas, sensors, and electronic subsystems.
The role requires designing and analyzing thermal systems through all program phases, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Onsite work with TS/SCI options is required.

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer - Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The qualified candidate will initially work closely with senior staff and work with a diverse and talented team of engineers helping to develop, analyze, and test everything from electronic components through hardware and integrated systems in support of a broad range of products and business areas within the Space Systems Sector.
The candidate will support the design, analysis, and test of space hardware and associated support equipment for antennas / electro-optical sensors, sensor structures, electronics chassis, circuit card assemblies, modules, and electronic subassemblies and components. The Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer will be involved during all phases of program development from concept design through hardware integration and test efforts, with responsibilities ranging from design inputs, completing thermal analyses, presenting at design reviews, writing test reports, and helping with product test planning and execution. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI access.
The ability to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, MD (Baltimore) facility.
Working knowledge of thermal analysis software (IcePak, Sinda/Fluint, Thermal Desktop) or similar.
Thermal design and/or analysis experience for spacecraft or avionics subsystem and/or payloads.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI security Clearance Design and analysis experience simulating heat transfer of electromechanical assemblies in Space environments. Experience in thermal testing, thermal requirements derivation and verification, and advanced thermal materials Thermal design verification testing experience. Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
