Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in Houston, TX. The role supports physical therapy interventions under a supervising PT and requires active PTA licensure plus LTC or rehab experience.

The PTA will administer treatments, document progress, and coordinate with the health team to optimize patient outcomes. Strong communication with patients and families is essential to the patient care plan.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Administers procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
• Assesses patient progress and updates the supervising PT to adjust treatments.
• Reports outcomes and effectiveness of treatments to the supervising PT.
• Provides counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders.
• Communicates with health team about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Contributes to discharge summaries and documents in the electronic system as required.
• Participates in meetings, trainings, and conferences as required.
• Assists with obtaining DME or supplies per regulatory needs.
• Supervises and supports students under the PT's guidance.
• Adheres to APTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct and ethics.

Description:Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.Assesses patient progress and communicates with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Physical Therapist.Provides consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.Provides input to supervisor for discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements.Participates in required meetings including but not limited to patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.Participates in facility and company required training, in-services, and conferences.Able to work with supervising Physical Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.Able to supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.Adheres to APTA and state required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
