Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based occupational therapy to inpatients as part of the rehab team.
• Document patient assessments, plan of care, and progress in EMR within required timelines.
• Supervise OT Assistants and coordinate with physicians for referrals and discharge planning.
• Monitor patient safety and equipment, and adjust treatment plans as indicated.
• Maintain accurate treatment records, morale, and productivity of the rehab department.

Description:Functions as a member of the rehabilitation team.Provides quality care for patients referred for services by a licensed physician.Initiates patient care through evidence-based assessment.Documents findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).Submits a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval and signature within 24 hours of completing evaluation.Submits accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR.Maintains treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedules for treatment referrals.Monitors patient progress and adjusts the treatment plan as needed.Makes recommendations for referrals when necessary.Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in patient care.Provides education as needed to enhance clinical skills.Continuously observes all equipment for hazards to assure patient safety.Displays positive behavior to promote effective interpersonal relationships.Contributes to enhancing the productivity and efficient operation of the department.Maintains professional knowledge, licensing, and skills.Promotes understanding of the field of occupational therapy.Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
