Description:Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record.Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.Provides consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.Effectively communicates with the supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.Provides input to the supervisor for discharge summaries of services provided.Documents all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided.Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.Participates in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.Works with the supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain any necessary durable medical equipment or supplies.Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.Adheres to required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.
