Job summary

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation in Boston, MA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to administer and supervise therapeutic programs under a Physical Therapist. This full-time onsite role supports patient care across rehabilitation services and reports to the Assistant Director, Rehabilitation Services.

A Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy is required with at least 1 year of experience preferred. State licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy required; additional certification preferred.
• 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• State licensure as Physical Therapist Assistant required.
• Must meet competency and retraining requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and/or instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities, gait training, wound care, manual therapy techniques, ADL training and orthotic/prosthetic training.
• Administer modalities during the course of therapy such as whirlpool, heat/cold, US, paraffin, ES, TENS, CPM, traction and iontophoresis.
• Document and maintain treatment records per department policy.
• Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapist in planning the termination of patients’ services.
• Attend meetings as required and meet annual competency and retraining requirements.
