Job summary

Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Therapy Aide for per-diem/PRN scheduling at our inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role supports therapists by performing patient-related tasks, assisting with transfers, and preparing patients and equipment for therapy sessions.

Minimum qualification includes a high school diploma or equivalent with BLS certification (or completion within 90 days). Preferred candidates have hospital experience as a therapy aide.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient-related tasks assigned by therapist.
• Lifts patients to/from mats, treatment areas, wheelchairs and related equipment.
• Assists patients with transfer activities to all surfaces.
• Assists patients with donning/doffing appliances specific to the facility.
• Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares for standing with orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transports patients to/from therapy as needed.
• Assists therapist with patient-related treatment activities and equipment.
• Sets up equipment and positions patients in preparation for therapy sessions as outlined in state practice.
