Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Therapy Aide II to join our Life Enrichment team at Allentown and Fountain Hill locations. You will help plan and implement activities that promote socialization, engagement, independence, and quality of life for residents.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care Activities, Therapeutic Recreation, or Life Enrichment, a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, a PA driver’s license, and is

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of substantiated experience in Long-Term Care Activities, Therapeutic Recreation, or Life Enrichment.
• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or education equivalent to completion of 12th grade with relevant credentials.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and help implement resident activities and recreational programming.
• Assess residents' interests and needs and incorporate preferences into planning.
• Assist with developing resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Lead and facilitate group activities and support large events and outings.
• Document resident participation and maintain accurate records.

Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Therapy Aide II to join our Life Enrichment team at our Allentown and Fountain Hill locations!

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Activities/Life Enrichment professional who wants to play an important role in developing and providing person-centered recreational and leisure programming for our residents.

Compensation & Schedule

• Part-Time – approximately 20 hours per week
• Rate: $18.31/hour
• Maximum 1,000 hours per anniversary year
• Not benefit eligible
• Evening and weekend availability may be required
• Positions available at:
  • Allentown
  • Fountain Hill

What You'll Do!

As a Therapy Aide II, you will be an important member of our Life Enrichment/Activities team, helping plan and implement programs that promote socialization, engagement, independence, and quality of life.

Responsibilities Include

• Evaluate and help implement resident activities and recreational programming
• Assess individual residents' recreational and leisure interests and needs
• Incorporate resident preferences and input into activity planning
• Assist with developing resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Lead and facilitate group activities
• Assist with large-scale activities, special events, celebrations, and resident outings
• Work collaboratively with Life Enrichment, Nursing, and other departments to ensure residents' leisure needs are addressed
• Help ensure activities are provided in an organized, appropriate, and safe manner
• Document resident participation and other appropriate information in the resident's chart
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Experienced in Long-Term Care Activities, Therapeutic Recreation, or Life Enrichment
• Creative and comfortable leading group activities

• Organized and able to maintain appropriate documentation
• Comfortable collaborating with Nursing and other departments
• Dependable and flexible with evening/weekend scheduling needs
• Someone who understands that small moments can make a big difference

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 2 years of substantiated experience working in a:
  • Long-Term Care Activities Department
  • Therapeutic Recreation Department
  • Life Enrichment Department OR
• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation
• Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
