Job summary

Sanford Health in the Sanford South University location is seeking a therapy aide to support physical and occupational therapy teams. You will prepare treatment areas, equipment, and materials, and assist therapists to deliver care in outpatient neuro, inpatient rehab, and acute orthopedic settings.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with daytime hours, 40 hours per week, and requires ability to assist with transfers and ADLs; BLS within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; on-the-job training provided.
• Physically capable of assisting with patient transfers, activities of daily living, and gait training as directed by a licensed therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in delivery of therapy services under supervision of licensed therapists.
• Prepares equipment and materials for treatment; assists patients and provides encouragement to perform treatments correctly.
• Performs related duties to support therapy department operations, including cleaning and clerical tasks.

Summary

Supports Physical and Occupational therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient equipment and materials, and performs procedures as directed by and under the supervision of a physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapist, or occupational therapy assistant. This full-time therapy aide position will be at our Sanford South University location. This position will assist in outpatient neuro, inpatient rehab, and acute orthopedic therapy settings.

Job Description

Assists in the delivery of therapy services for patients/residents/clients suffering from illness, injury, or developmental impairments, under supervision of and as directed by the licensed Therapist as appropriate. Prepares equipment and materials for treatment; assists patients/residents/clients and provides encouragement to make sure that they correctly perform treatments. As needed, performs other related duties as requested that serve to support the operations of the therapy department, such as cleaning, clerical duties, assisting patients with care needs, and assisting patients to/from the therapy department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Must be physically capable of assisting with patient transfers, activities of daily living, and gait training as directed by a licensed therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of employment.
