Catholic Charities West Michigan is seeking a Sexual Abuse Prevention Treatment Therapist to provide therapy, counseling and educational services within licensure scope. Service area includes Berrien and Van Buren counties, with a $5,000 signing bonus split across first paycheck and 9-month anniversary.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in therapy or related field preferred.
  • State of Michigan certifications or licensure as specified per program.
  • Certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Specialist with the Forensic Training Institute preferred.
  • MCBAP CAADC development plan required if providing Substance Use Disorder Services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling, psycho-educational services, screenings and/or psychotherapy per licensure.
  • Coordinate client services and maintain client records.
  • Participate in mental health and substance use disorders development activities.
  • Drive for Agency business as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

The Sexual Abuse Prevention Treatment Therapist is to be responsible for direct provision of therapy, counseling and educational services within the scope of their licensure or certification within the Behavioral Health program. This position provides therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups and represents the Agency in the field. This position serves Berrien and Van Buren counties.

$5,000 signing bonus- split between your first full paycheck and after your 9-month work anniversary

Annual Wage Range: $55,000.00-$65,000.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides counseling, psycho-educational services, screenings and/or psychotherapy and diagnostic assessments per licensure capacity.
  • Coordinates client services.
  • Maintains client records.
  • Participates in mental health and substance use disorders development activities.
  • Drives for Agency business.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor's request.

  • This position requires reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record with zero work restrictions.
  • Must have personal auto insurance as required by law with minimum bodily injury coverage limits of $250,000 per person/$500,000 per incident or $500,000 combined.
  • Must submit to agency approved background checks.
Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

A master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in therapy or related experience is strongly preferred.

Professional Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • This position requires State of Michigan certifications or licensure as specified per program.
  • Certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Specialist with the Forensic Training Institute is preferred.
  • Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals and Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate of MCBAP CAADC Development Plan required if providing Substance Use Disorder Services.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
