Baptist Memorial Health Care seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide skilled respiratory care. The role involves patient assessment, plan development, and collaboration with the care team to deliver evidence-based treatment.

A license and RRT credential are required, with BLS due within 14 days of hire. Desirable candidates have 1 year hospital experience and ACLS in addition to strong computer and office software skills.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Hospital and Departmental orientation.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS preferred.
• 1 year hospital experience (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Assess the patient and develop the plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care and administer medications as prescribed.
• Evaluate outcomes and modify care as needed.
• Provide patient/family education and counseling.
• Collaborate with care team and provide clinical leadership.
• Support ongoing learning and complete assigned goals.

Job Summary

A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) demonstrates these skills by successfully completing examinations administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and earning the credential RRT. Assesses and evaluates results, and implements complex methods of providing care. Participates in the delivery of care and functions as a specialty clinical resource for other caregivers. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Specifications

Experience

• Recent clinical respiratory care experience (hospital, home care, skilled nursing facility) and/or previous respiratory care practice.

Minimum Required

• Current state license.

Preferred/Desired

• 1 year hospital experience.

Education

• State license and/or "RRT" credential in accordance to the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Training

• Hospital and Departmental Orientation.

Minimum Required

• Successful completion of Hospital and Departmental orientation.

Special Skills

• Computer literacy

Minimum Required

• Basic computer knowledge using Windows Operating system and Microsoft Office.

Licensure

• Successful completion of entry and advanced level exams for RCPs. ABG endorsed, if applicable.

• RRT;BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
