Wyandot Mental Health Center in Kansas City is seeking an experienced mental health professional to provide individual therapy and assessments for adults, with potential youth involvement. You will coordinate care with staff, identify client needs, and ensure quality services across community partners.

The role emphasizes caseload management, documentation, and collaboration to support recovery and access to services for diverse clients in a centralized office setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mental health and Kansas LMHP licensure.
• Preference for clinical licensure and dual licensure with SUD.
• Experience delivering therapy to adults with severe mental illness.
• Spanish/English bilingualism preferred.
• Ability to work with treatment teams and community agencies.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized therapy and assessments for adults, with youth/adolescents as needed.

Description

Purpose:

To provide individual therapy, assessments, with primarily adults with the possibility of providing evaluations and interventions for youth and/or adolescent individuals. Provide initial follow up with clients and staff to ensure customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities:

• Will provide specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate to training and experience.
• Will maintain caseload of clients/consumers in need of therapy.
• Works with regularly assigned Wyandot Mental Health Center staff to provide quality mental health services.
• Identifies strengths and needs of client/consumer and families and acts to involve them in planning for desired services.
• Works with other agencies to refer and secure adequate services.
• Will complete all paperwork in compliance with agency standards and policies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Master's Degree and current licensure in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional, with preference given to clinical licensure and dual licensure with SUD license.

Experience: Prior experience providing effective, efficient therapeutic services to adults facing severe persistent mental health illness.

Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of trends and issues, laws and regulations related to the development and delivery of therapeutic services helpful.
• Ability to establish relationships with clients and treatment teams.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities under changing circumstances and timeframes.
• Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
• Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner with colleagues and representatives of other agencies.
• Familiar with mental health theory and practice.
• Organizational skills to assist in managing a caseload, keeping up with progress notes and treatment plans.
• Screening Solutions and Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursable inquires.

Location/Travel/Work Conditions and Considerations:

Based at a central office, light travel is required to other locations, businesses, and community sites to meet organizational needs. Workday regularly includes multiple and/or conflicting demands.
