Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System is seeking a licensed social work professional to provide psychosocial assessments, therapy, and discharge planning on an inpatient unit. You will participate in treatment planning and coordinate care with the treatment team and external referral sources.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, case management, and collaboration across departments to support patients across the lifespan in a 365-bed psychiatric facility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or related field; licensure preferred.
• Experience with psychiatric mental health populations, inpatient setting preferred.
• TN LCSW, LPC, LP licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice.

Job Description

The Therapist provides clinical social work services on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, and discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including, adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.

Education:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Services related field required, licensure preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.

Licensure/Certification:

TN LCSW, LPC, LP preferred.

Knowledge:

Prefer knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice.

Supervision Received:

Director of Social Services, Program Directors, Program Coordinators
