Job description

Audrey Grace House Therapist (LPC, LMFT, LCSW)

New Horizons | Abilene, Texas

Since 1971, New Horizons has been committed to Keeping Kids First by providing safe, therapeutic, and loving environments where children and families can heal, grow, and succeed.

The Audrey Grace House is a residential treatment program serving children and adolescents who have experienced abuse, neglect, and complex trauma. Our kids require more than therapy sessions — they need a consistent, trauma‑informed environment that promotes emotional safety, skill development, and healthy relationships.

We are seeking a licensed Therapist/Clinician who is passionate about trauma resolution, collaborative treatment, and helping children build the coping skills they need for life.

Position Overview

The Audrey Grace House Therapist plays a critical role in supporting the healing and growth of children and adolescents in residential care. This position provides individual, group, and family therapy while serving as a key member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Our therapists are not only clinicians — they are clinical leaders within the milieu. They collaborate daily with Direct Care Staff, case managers, and leadership to ensure that treatment plans are implemented consistently and that the therapeutic environment reflects trauma‑informed, relationship‑based care.

This role is ideal for a clinician who values teamwork, structured treatment environments, and the opportunity to see meaningful progress in youth over time.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy in a residential treatment setting (average caseload 1:10)
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans in collaboration with the child and treatment team
  • Utilize CANS 3.0 assessments to guide treatment planning and therapy frequency
  • Partner with Direct Care Staff to support trauma-informed interventions within the daily milieu
  • Provide consultation and clinical guidance to staff to strengthen therapeutic responses
  • Complete timely clinical documentation and service plan updates
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Respond to crisis situations as part of an on‑call rotation using sound clinical judgment
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and HIPAA regulations
What We’re Looking For
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
  • Current Texas licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW
  • Medicaid credentialed (or eligible)
  • Strong trauma-focused clinical background, with emphasis on trauma resolution
  • Experience working with children and adolescents impacted by abuse, neglect, and complex trauma
  • Skilled in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic problem-solving
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Residential treatment experience preferred
Working Environment

This position operates within a residential treatment setting that includes indoor and outdoor engagement with youth and staff. Schedule flexibility and participation in a 24‑hour on‑call rotation coordinated by the Treatment Director is required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and move throughout the facility, assess situations quickly, provide CPR/First Aid, and safely respond to crisis situations in accordance with agency training and policy.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000+

Compensation is based on experience, education, and leadership background.
