Job summary

Responsibilities

The BridgeWay is seeking a full‑time Therapist to join the team. As a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Therapist provides direct patient care including completion of social assessments, formulation of treatment plans, and provision of individual, group, family, and special focus group psychotherapy. The Therapist also completes discharge and continuing care plans, interfaces with referral sources, community service agencies, businesses, employers, and healthcare facilities, and ensures compliance with quality patient care standards and regulatory requirements such as the Joint Commission and State Health Department regulations.

Qualifications

Licenses or Certifications: Current Arkansas licensure in specialty. Employee must be in good standing with licensing board and must maintain license as a condition of employment. Employee should have current CPR and CPI certifications, or must obtain within 2‑weeks of hire (offered onsite). Employee must maintain certification with CPR and CPI as a condition of employment.

Education, vocational training and experience: Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling or equivalent degree. Must have documented experience working in the field. Specialty in substance use disorder preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  1. Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate in a clear, concise manner with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, hospital staff, and the public, and to provide accurate and timely documentation and record‑keeping.
  2. Knowledge of the physical, emotional, and cultural characteristics of patients who have psychiatric, chemical dependency, and behavioral problems.
  3. Ability to continually identify and assess the emotional needs of the patient and to measure the patient’s progress.
  4. Knowledge of community resources.
  5. Good organizational and time‑management skills to cope in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions, complex schedules, and fluctuations in census.
  6. Physical demands include daily sitting, standing, walking, and movement, as well as meeting patients and families.
