Job summary

Universal Health Services in Texas is seeking a Program Therapist to join a multidisciplinary treatment team providing direct patient care, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, treatment planning and family sessions.

Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work; Texas licensure (LCSW/LMSW/LPC or equivalent); 1 year mental health experience with children 5–11 preferred; Handle with Care training within 90 days and CPR/TB certification required.

Position Summary

The Program Therapist is an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work related field.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in a mental health field with children ages 5-11 preferred. Must have experience providing direct care, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, clinical assessment skills and treatment planning.
• Licensure Requirements: Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field. This includes but is not limited to LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCDC.
• Additional Requirements: Handle with Care training within 90 days of employment. Competencies tested within 90 days of hire and annually. Ability to work flexible hours, overtime for hourly staff, some holidays and weekends. TB test and CPR certification prior to working with patients. Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
