Job summary

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) in Mount Holly, NJ seeks a full-time Licensed Clinician/Counselor (LSW or LAC) to support our Behavioral Health Program and possibly assist the Mobile Unit initiative.

The role involves biopsychosocial assessments, individualized treatment plans, individual and group counseling (in person and telehealth), and evidence-based interventions such as MI, CBT, and DBT-informed care, with emphasis on recovery and community connection.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program.
  • Active New Jersey license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC).
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments addressing mental health, substance use, social, and functional needs.
  • Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans in partnership with clients.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services in person and through telehealth, when appropriate.
  • Use evidence-informed approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, CBT- and DBT-informed interventions, relapse prevention, coping-skills development, and psychoeducation.
  • Support clients with stress management, emotional regulation, recovery planning, and connection to community resources.
  • Provide services to individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans and clinical recommendations as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, nursing, case management, peer support, and administrative staff to coordinate care.
  • Participate in case conferences, supervision, staff meetings, training, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is a CARF-accredited nonprofit organization providing outpatient substance use and mental health services. NBCC is seeking a full-time Licensed Clinician/Counselor (LSW or LAC) to support our Behavioral Health Program at our Burlington County location in Mount Holly. This position will provide clinic-based services and may also support our Mobile Unit initiative by delivering behavioral health services in community settings.

Primary Responsibilities

The Licensed Clinician will:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments addressing mental health, substance use, social, and functional needs.

  • Support clients with stress management, emotional regulation, recovery planning, and connection to community resources.
  • Provide services to individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans and clinical recommendations as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, nursing, case management, peer support, and administrative staff to coordinate care.
  • Participate in case conferences, supervision, staff meetings, training, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Complete progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other required clinical documentation within established timeframes.
  • Follow agency policies, ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable state, federal, payer, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support clinic-based, Mobile Unit, and community-based services as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the position and the needs of the program.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program.
  • Active New Jersey license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC).
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive care.
  • Strong clinical judgment, professional boundaries, communication skills, and ethical decision-making.
  • Ability to manage a clinical caseload independently while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to complete accurate clinical documentation within required timeframes.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to provide services at the Mount Holly clinic and assigned Mobile Unit or community locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in outpatient behavioral health, substance use treatment, community mental health, or co-occurring-disorders treatment.
  • Experience working in medication-assisted treatment or an Opioid Treatment Program setting.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups.
  • Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT-informed interventions, relapse prevention, and recovery-oriented care.
  • Bilingual skills, including Spanish or another language commonly spoken in the community.

Schedule:
Full-time, on-site position. The work schedule may vary between 6:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., based on program operations, Mobile Unit activities, client needs, and agency coverage requirements. Some local travel to Mobile Unit or community service locations may be required.
