RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Therapist II for the RWJ Somerset location in Somerville, NJ. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based behavioral health services to adults, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling, NJ licensure (LCSW/LPC preferred; LSW/LAC acceptable), and at least two years of clinical experience.

• NJ State licensure; LCSW or LPC preferred; LSW or LAC acceptable depending on experience.
• Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
• Two years or more years job related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Therapy Delivery: Facilitate individual therapy and structured psychotherapeutic groups for an adult population.
• Assessments & Risk Management: Conduct intakes and clinical assessments, develop risk assessments and safety plans.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with other clinicians and families.
• Discharge & Care Coordination: Connect patients with aftercare services and community resources.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate EHR documentation of assessments, sessions, and treatment plans.

As a Therapist II, you will play an essential role in delivering evidence-based behavioral health services, developing individualized treatment plans, and partnering with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting resilience, recovery, and emotional well-being.

A Typical Day for a Therapist II may include

• Therapy Delivery: Facilitate structured psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational groups, along with providing individual therapy, for a diverse adult population with wide-ranging psychiatric diagnoses
• Assessments & Risk Management: Conduct intakes, to formulate a clinical assessment including for patient's biopsychosocial needs, medical and mental health history, as well as conducting risk assessments and safety planning with the patient as needed
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in treatment team meetings to formulate treatment plans, collaborating closely with other mental health treatment providers, and patients' families
• Discharge & Care Coordination: Collaborate with community resources to connect them with appropriate aftercare services, as well as other supportive services to active patients
• Clinical Documentation: Complete accurate and timely electronic health record documentation for all assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment plans in compliance with hospital policy, state and federal regulations, and regulatory standards

To be considered for this Therapist II opportunity,

• Masters degree from an accredited school of Social Work or Counseling degree from an accredited school, PhD from an accredited college or university
• Licensure: NJ State licensure, LCSW, LPC is preferred, LSW, LAC is acceptable depending on experience
