Job summary

BrightView in Dayton, OH seeks a Therapist II to provide evidence-based therapy for substance use disorders and support a recovery-focused program. You will conduct individual and group sessions, assist with intake assessments, and contribute to treatment planning within a collaborative care team.

The role requires active state licensure, a Master’s degree, and HIPAA/42-CFR Part 2 familiarity. You will document in the EHR and engage in staff meetings and mentorship as part of a supportive

Responsibilities

• Provide independent therapy sessions for patients with Substance Use Disorders.
• Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and intake assessments per clinic needs.
• Demonstrate competency for individual counseling and occasional sessions.
• Assist with treatment planning and progress reviews with the multidisciplinary team.
• Carry and manage a caseload of patients.
• Document treatment data in the electronic health record and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Attend required meetings and participate in supervision and team meetings.
• Provide training/onboarding support for new hires and mentors.

CLINICAL CARE

• Consistently provide primarily independent therapy sessions for patients diagnosed with Substance Use Disorders.
• Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and patient intake assessments based on the needs of the clinic’s patient population and caseload, aligned with scientific best-practice guidelines.
• Demonstrate competency for individual counseling, offering occasional individual counselor sessions as appropriate.

PATIENT CARE COORDINATION

• Assist with treatment planning and reviewing progress towards treatment plan goals.
• Coordinate patient care with the onsite multidisciplinary team.
• Carry and effectively manage a caseload of patients.

DOCUMENTATION AND COMPLIANCE

• Timely and comprehensively document all necessary treatment data into the electronic patient health record.
• Ensure adherence to all necessary regulatory and company compliance requirements.

MEETING AND COLLABORATION

• Attends required meetings including but not limited to all on-site staff meetings, supervision, multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Attend required meetings including individual and group supervision, multidisciplinary team meeting, and quarterly in-service.

TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP

• Occasional training/onboarding support for new hire Counselor I.
• Training, onboarding, and mentorship support for new hire counselors within the site or adjacent clinics.

• Technologically capable, comfortable operating in multiple systems for communication and documentation purposes. Familiarity with MS Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) preferred.
• Embraces BrightView’s culture of compliance - operates with a high degree of integrity and compliance to work standards and regulatory requirements.

• Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired
• Prior experience with harm reduction a plus
