Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Clinton, IL seeks a dedicated Therapist to provide compassionate behavioral health services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

You will develop treatment plans, conduct counseling sessions and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client recovery while maintaining thorough clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field.
• Licensure as LPC/LSW/CADC eligible within 2 years.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver's license and transportation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings, assessments and evaluations to identify client needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and deliver evidence-based therapy.
• Provide individual, group and family counseling.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation compliant with standards.
• Participate in crisis intervention and support during acute episodes.
• Link clients to community resources to support recovery.

Salary

Salary is based on education, experience, and licensure or certification:

• Master’s Degree: $60,000/year + every other Friday off paid
• Master’s Degree + LPC, LSW, or CADC: $64,000/year + every other Friday off paid
• Master’s Degree + LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT: $67,000/year + every other Friday off paid
• Sign On Bonus Eligible with one year commitment ($5000.00)

Schedule

Full-time, with every other Friday off as a paid wellness day

Your Role

As a Therapist at Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Clinton, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders. You will play a key role in helping clients achieve recovery and improve their quality of life through individualized treatment planning, counseling, and therapeutic interventions.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and client goals
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based practices
• Deliver therapy services that address mental health and substance use challenges
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, person-centered care
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
• Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during acute episodes
• Coordinate community resources to support recovery and wellness

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices
• Skill in conducting comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations and in developing treatment plans
• Strong counseling and therapy skills, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral techniques
• Ability to build therapeutic relationships and maintain professional boundaries
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations
• Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
• Commitment to ethical standards and continuous professional development

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or another human service field
• Ability to obtain licensure as an LPC or LSW, or certification as a CADC, within 2 years
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
