Legacy Community Health seeks a Clinic-Based Therapist to provide high-quality psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. Based in Houston, you will work with a collaborative team, offering family-focused interventions and coordinating with physicians to connect behavioral health with overall care.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a social/behavioral science, Texas licensure (LCSW/LPC/LMFT) and at least 2 years of paid therapy experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the social or behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university.
• Must hold a Texas license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in good standing.
• Current first aid/CPR certifications.
• Must participate in Medicare/Medicaid and other programs as requested by Legacy.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years paid psychotherapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Screen new clients to identify presenting problems and provide referrals as indicated.
• Administer psychosocial assessments.
• Provide individual, couples and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children.
• Be well-practiced in all psychotherapeutic modalities with emphasis on childhood disorders.
• Collaborate with clients, physicians, and other providers to develop client-centered interventions and treatment plans.
• Document all encounters in the medical record within 3 working days.
• Perform billing activities according to agency procedures.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Interview and advise patients regarding health prevention and family planning services as funded.
• Keep abreast of developments in therapeutic techniques and research.

Clinic Based Therapist - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Hybrid

As a Therapist at Legacy Community Health, you will provide high-quality psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults with identified behavioral health needs. Your compassion, clinical expertise, and commitment to client-centered care will help clients navigate biopsychosocial stressors and move toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Based at 6500 Rookin St., Bldg. B, Ste. 200, Houston, TX 77074, you will join a collaborative healthcare team focused on communication, thoughtful treatment planning, and whole-person care. You will work closely with clients, physicians, and other providers so behavioral health services are connected to each person’s broader healthcare needs.

Schedule, Support, and Growth

This is a full-time opportunity with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends. You will meet with a clinical supervisor at least monthly to review client cases and continue developing your practice. Through meaningful client relationships and community-focused care, your work can bring personal fulfillment while making a lasting difference in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen new clients to identify presenting problems, address urgent issues and/or provide immediate referral as indicated.
• Administer psychosocial assessments.
• Provide individual, couples and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children experiencing biopsychosocial stressors.
• Be well-practiced in all psychotherapeutic modalities with a strong emphasis on effective treatment for childhood disorders.
• Collaborate with clients, physicians, and other providers to develop and implement client-centered interventions and treatment plans.
• Re-assess clients and complete new treatment plans as indicated.
• Work a full-time flexible schedule that will include evenings and some weekends.
• Meet with clinical supervisor at least monthly to review client cases.
• Document all encounters with clients, including but not limited to all contacts and attempted contacts with or on behalf of clients in the client's medical record within 3 working days of their occurrence.
• Perform billing activities according to agency procedures.
• Attend all meetings as required.
• Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention, including FQHC-required voluntary family planning services and related preventative health services in compliance with funding requirements and state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Keep abreast of developments in therapeutic techniques, theories and research.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a master's degree from an accredited college or university in the social or behavioral sciences.
• Must have a current Texas license (LCSW, LPC and/or LMFT) and be in good standing with their credentialing board
• Must maintain first aid /CPR certifications.
• Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers' compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.

Required Years of Experience

• Must have a minimum of 2 years paid work experience providing psychotherapy therapy

Desirable Education and/or Experience

• A therapist who has a Ph.D. in his/her specialty will be honored the CME/CEU stipend amount equivalent to the doctorate level, per policy.
