Highland Rivers Behavioral Health in Marietta, GA is seeking a Therapist to serve clients in an outpatient setting, providing individualized case management, counseling, and crisis intervention.

The role requires active ASL certification to ensure direct communication with Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients and to support accessible services.

Qualifications

• Active ASL certification such as NIC, CDI, or BEI is required.
• Experience providing counseling and case management is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community.
• Assessments, individual, family, crisis, and group counseling per treatment plans; complete paperwork.
• Ensure eligibility criteria are met or refer to appropriate provider in the community.
• Manage caseload with authorized services and current charts; close charts per policy.
• Advocate for individuals; timely communication with referral sources and appropriate authorization.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions and develop comprehensive plans of care based on client strengths and needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Therapist serves individuals in an Outpatient setting. The Therapist provides individualized case management and accepts clinical responsibilities including: referrals; screenings/assessments, individual, group and family counseling, and crisis intervention. The Therapist must possess an active certification in American Sign Language (ASL), such as an NIC, CDI, or BEI credential, to ensure direct and accessible client communication.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Provide services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community.
• Provides assessments, individual, family, crisis, and group counseling for individuals according to their treatment plans; completes paperwork according to Policy and Procedure.
• Completes all necessary paperwork according to Policy and Procedure; ensures individuals meet eligibility criteria or refers to appropriate provider in the community.
• Manages a caseload by ensuring all services are authorized, chart paperwork is complete and current, and individual charts are closed according to Policy and Procedure.
• Takes ownership for individual and referral source satisfaction by returning phone calls in a timely manner, communicating with referral sources with appropriate authorization, link and/or serve as advocate for individuals as needed.
• Encourages individual responsibility and recovery by utilizing evidenced-based interventions, providing comprehensive and ongoing assessment, referring individuals to appropriate internal and external services, involving and educating family, seeking and utilizing supervision, developing individualized and comprehensive plan of care based on the individual's strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
• Participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Other duties as assigned.
