Job summary

Centerstone seeks a compassionate Therapist in Indianapolis, IN to provide individual, group, and family therapy within the Addictions department. The role requires a Master’s in a behavioral health field and licensure (LPC/LCSW/LMFT or equivalent).

  • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, diagnostic criteria, and rehabilitation methods related to behavioral health treatment

This role is responsible for conducting assessments, rendering diagnoses, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, group, family, and other therapeutic counseling services in various settings
  • Conduct intake screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations within required timelines
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals
  • Facilitate evidence-based therapeutic interventions including trauma-informed and co-occurring treatment services
  • Document all clinical services in accordance with state, accreditation, and agency standards
  • Participate in clinical staffing meetings and interdisciplinary treatment planning discussions
  • Manage caseloads and ensure services are delivered within department productivity expectations
  • Coordinate with internal departments and referral sources to support continuity of care
  • Assist clients through transition and discharge planning processes
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency support services as needed
  • Support clinical supervision and mentorship opportunities when applicable
  • Provide consultation and guidance to treatment team members regarding clinical concerns and evidence-based practices
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, referral partners, and colleagues while adhering to ethical standards and agency policies
  • Complete required trainings and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Represent the organization professionally within the community
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related behavioral health field required
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent licensure required
  • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, diagnostic criteria, and rehabilitation methods related to behavioral health treatment
  • Experience with telehealth services preferred
  • Must be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as needed
Required License/Certification (one of the following):
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
  • CPR and First Aid certification within three (3) months of employment required
Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective therapeutic relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage crisis situations effectively
  • Knowledge of state regulations, accreditation standards, and ethical guidelines related to behavioral health services
  • Comfortable providing services through telehealth platforms

Employment Requirements:
  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation upon hire
  • Completion of all required trainings, including Relias training, upon hire and annually thereafter
  • Completion of Behavioral Management training within required timelines
  • Achievement of ongoing training requirements in accordance with agency and state standards
  • Provide copies of all applicable licenses and certifications
  • For school-based programs, ability to provide services during school operating hours
Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration – Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and documentation tasks.

Sedentary work primarily involves sitting but may include occasional walking or standing for brief periods throughout the workday.
