WestCare Inc is seeking counselors in Las Vegas to deliver individual, group, and family counseling. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with policies. Counselors are primarily responsible for delivering individual, group, and family counseling services and completing documentation required for the clinical record, including the development of Individual Service Plans (ISP), psychosocial assessments, daily notes, and weekly reviews. Counselors attend interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, monitor treatment throughout client care, and establish parameters for discharge planning. They are responsible for crisis intervention and de‑escalation of situations to ensure safety for all, including assessment of crisis situations, determining severity, and making recommendations to direct care staff to ensure consistency and appropriate responses. Counselors may direct and supervise staff assigned to them and develop an approved curriculum for group and individual counseling.
Indoor and outdoor settings; group and/or individual counseling sessions; direct contact with clients of all ages and levels of functioning; fast‑paced environment; potential for high noise level at times; minimum of 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed; regular attendance required; ability to work hours beyond normal working times.
Ability to perform mobility and physical activity in office, residential, or outdoor environments, including standing, walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds; use of computer and telephone systems for eye and hand coordination, typing, writing, and file management; ability to defend oneself and clients in physically abusive situations through approved physical de‑escalation techniques.
Require speaking: expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word; delivering oral information, instructions, and detailed or important messages accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Require hearing: receiving and communicating detailed information through oral communication.
Require seeing: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance, necessary for paperwork and observing client behavior and activities at or outside the facility.
Exposure to human blood, body fluids, or tissues is not normal; potential exposure may occur depending on condition of employment; appropriate personal protective equipment will be available.
