Job summary

Spring Leaf Solutions in Washington, DC seeks a licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide community and office-based services, including assessment, treatment planning, and individual psychotherapy. Must hold DC licensure at LGSW/LGPC, LICSW or LPC, and possess a master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.

The role includes maintaining a 25-client caseload, documenting all care activities, and reporting to the Clinical Manager.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Explain client rights, confidentiality, and mandated reporting.
• Perform diagnostic assessments using multiple sources.
• Determine DSM-5 diagnosis.
• Develop and update treatment plans every six months or as needed.
• Provide individual and family therapy.
• Document all contacts, referrals, and information.
• Maintain a caseload of 25 clients per week.
• Apply crisis management skills to stabilize clients.
• Participate in monthly peer group supervision and training.

Job description

Position Summary

The Mental Health Therapist works in the community as well as office. The MH Therapist is responsible for providing the following core services: mental health assessment, treatment planning, and individual psychotherapy. Candidates must have current licensure in the District of Columbia at the LGSW/ LGPC, LICSW or LPC level.

Reportability

Therapist will report directly to the Clinical Manager a LICSW/LPC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Explain therapist’s role and client rights and responsibilities, including confidentiality and mandated reporting;
• Complete a diagnostic assessment on all clients referred, gathering information from a referral source, client chart and other pertinent sources, including family members and past providers of care; Assessment will be done as needed; however, therapist is required to complete updated assessment on clients who are on current caseload;
• Determine DSM-5 diagnosis;
• Complete treatment plan which is done every six months or as needed;
• Provide individual and family therapy;
• Document all contacts, referrals, and other necessary information;
• Maintain a caseload of 25 clients a week
• Apply crisis management skills when necessary to stabilize clients;
• Participate in monthly case reviews of clients in peer-group supervision;
• Identify and participate in other training or committees that can further enhance professional growth;

Education and/or Experience –
