Job summary

Balance Treatment Center in California seeks a full-time therapist to join our Intensive Outpatient Programs. You will work 30 hours weekly with adults, adolescents, and families, primarily in group formats, and some individual/family sessions.

Evening shifts until 7pm are required; shifts include 9:30-4, 11:00-5:30, and 12:30-7:00. Experience with group work and evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Multi-Family Psychoeducation, Art/Mindfulness) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Licensed therapist with LMFT/LCSW/LPCC/PhD/AMFT/ACSW or related clinical qualifications.
  • Experience with group work, adolescents and evidence-based approaches preferred.
  • DBT, ACT, EMDR, Mindfulness or other evidence-based practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain well-being of clients and integrity of the program.
  • Provide effective family, group and individual psychotherapy.
  • Maintain knowledge of mental health, dual diagnosis, CBT, DBT, and family systems.
  • Conduct assessments at admission and as needed.
  • Provide diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on client history and symptoms.
  • Provide crisis intervention services.
  • Consult with agency staff and other professionals.
  • Maintain documentation in timely manner; complete discharge planning as required.

POSITION

We are currently seeking a full‑time therapist to work a 30‑hour week in our Intensive Outpatient Programs. Our Therapists will be working with adults, adolescents, and families, primarily in groups, with some individual and family work. Experience with group work, adolescents and evidence based approaches is preferred. Group modalities currently include CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Process, Multi‑Family Psychoeducation and Experiential Therapies (Art, Mindfulness, Meditation). Evening work required 1 days per week until 7pm; we have 3 shifts 9:30‑4, 11:00‑5:30, and 12:30‑7:00pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain the well‑being of clients and the integrity of the program.
  • Provide effective family, group and individual psychotherapy.
  • Maintain knowledge of mental health, dual diagnosis, CBT, DBT, and family systems approach.
  • Conduct assessments of clients at admission and as needed.
  • Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the client’s history, signs, and symptoms.
  • Provide crisis intervention services.
  • Consult with agency staff, caregivers and other professionals.
  • Maintain all documentation in appropriate and timely manner as required.
  • Provide appropriate discharge planning for clients as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with Balance Treatment Center mission and philosophy.
  • Participate in treatment planning.
  • Provide utilization reviews as required.
  • Attend in‑service training and educational workshops.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues.
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PhD, AMFT, ACSW, APCC or related clinical qualifications
  • Associates encouraged to apply, please note we only have a LMFT supervisor at this time, we cannot provide PsyD supervision or LCSW supervision.
  • Prior training in DBT, ACT, EMDR, Mindfulness or other evidence‑based practices is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  • Must be customer‑service driven.
