  • License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic rapport with clients and meet with clients as scheduled.
  • Conduct diagnostic and substance use assessments.
  • Complete concurrent documentation within 24 hours.
  • Provide assessment services and individual, and possibly family, therapy for clients with substance use issues.
  • Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise treatment goals, objectives, and plans.
  • Use empirically based therapeutic modalities to address mental health or substance use diagnoses.
  • Complete progress notes according to current agency guidelines.
  • Respond to urgent care situations and provide coverage for vacant caseloads through telephone and face-to-face intervention.
  • Keep the administrative supervisor informed of issues that could affect the program or organization.
  • Provide behavioral health services at both the Shelbyville and Lewisburg clinics.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and interdisciplinary clinical staff.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.

Job description

Requirements
  • Master’s degree required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in Mental Health Counseling
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field must complete at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in psychopathology
  • Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting
  • Clinical experience required; clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s degree program may fulfill this requirement
  • License-eligible in respective discipline preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Coordination, organization, and planning abilities
  • Timely and professional response to consumer needs
  • Good clinical judgment in decision-making regarding consumers
