Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a therapist to treat individuals with mental health and substance use disorders within a multi-disciplinary team. The role requires clinical experience and a strong commitment to patient care.

No weekend or on-call work is required, and starting salary aligns with agency guidelines. Qualified candidates will have a Master's degree in a relevant field, be license-eligible, and demonstrate solid documentation, assessment, and treatment planning skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required in Clinical Psychology, MH Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or MH Counseling specialization
• License-eligible in respective discipline preferred
• OR completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health coursework

Responsibilities

• Develop therapeutic rapport with clients and meet with clients as scheduled to aid in therapeutic relationship
• Diagnostic assessment and provisional diagnoses with risk assessment as needed
• Concurrent documentation within 24 hours
• Provide assessment services and individual therapy for substance use issues
• Develop, write, implement and evaluate treatment goals and plans
• Use empirically based modalities to treat mental health or substance abuse disorders
• Complete progress notes per agency guidelines
• Respond to supervisory requests for urgent care and cover vacant caseloads (phone and face-to-face)
• Keep supervisor informed of issues affecting the program or organization

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Centerstone is seeking therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team. No weekend or on call work required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop therapeutic rapport with clients - Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in development of therapeutic relationship.
• Diagnostic Assessment - Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented, identify need for risk assessment (to include substance use assessments).
• Concurrent Documentation - Completes documentation within 24 hours.
• Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues.
• Treatment Planning - Developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals/objectives and plans per ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual based on their identified strengths.
• Therapeutic Interventions - Use of empirically based modalities to engage and manage their mental health or substance abuse diagnosis.
• Progress notes completed within current agency guidelines.
• Responds to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads. This includes telephones and face to face intervention.
• Keeps administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Coordination, ability to organize, and plan are critical for this role
• Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner.
• Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision making regarding consumers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements

A Master's degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling

License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.

OR

Applicants with a Master's degree in a related field

must meet the following criteria: Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.

Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas:

• Clinical treatment and treatment planning
• Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
• Psychopathology
• Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting

Experience Requirements

Clinical experience is required. This may be fulfilled through clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master's degree program.

Starting Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
