Job summary

Altior Healthcare seeks a Mental Health Therapist to deliver individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents and young adults within a structured 28–35 day treatment episode. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients through treatment and aftercare, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring ethical, regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical mental health or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or young adults.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (or enrollment in Doctoral program).
  • Experience providing individual, family, and/or group therapy; trauma-informed treatment or substance use experience preferred.
  • Licensed, pre-licensed, or license-eligible in Maine, or ability to transfer license (LCPC/LCSW/LMFT/Clinical Psychologist).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents and/or young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, and other co-occurring conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and assessments with patients and guardians.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic rapport with each assigned patient during a 28–35 day treatment episode.
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, observations).
  • Synthesize and communicate relevant clinical information to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support aftercare and discharge planning with families and internal/external clinical teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and all applicable clinical, regulatory, and licensing requirements.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents and/or young adults experiencing mental health and behavioral health challenges. This role collaborates with a multidisciplinary clinical team to support patients throughout a structured treatment episode and into successful aftercare.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a clinical mental health or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or young adults.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (or enrollment in a Doctoral program).
  • Experience providing individual, family, and/or group therapy.Experience with mental health, substance use, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
  • Licensed, pre-licensed, or license-eligible in Maine, or ability to transfer license, as one of the following:
    • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC / conditional license)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW / LMSW-cc)
    • Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT / conditional license)
    • Clinical Psychologist

Salary Range

$75,000—$95,000 USD
