Adult Primary Therapist
Job Location: Immersion Recovery Center LLC - Delray Beach, FL 33445
Education Level: 4 Year Degree/Bachelor's
Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $86,000.00
Position Purpose
The Adult Primary Therapist is responsible for performing client care activities as directed by the attending physician, Medical Director, Clinical Director & Clinical Lead. They will provide group therapy as ordered by the Clinical Director, collaborate with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan, and assist in coordinating discharge planning.
Qualifications
Education
Preferred graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a health‑related field. Experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years experience in chemical dependency – psychiatric setting.
- Must have two years of sobriety prior to hire if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self‑help program.
Licensure / Certification
- If licensed, must not currently have CAQH; obtain a CAQH within two weeks of start date or upon licensure receipt.
- Florida Requirement: CRSS certification and above (preferred) or willing/able to obtain. Licenses such as CAC, CAP, LMHC, LCSW or Registered Intern with active clear license in good standing. Experience may substitute except where license or certification is required by standards.
- Maine Requirement: Must be a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), or a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with one year clinical experience and 60 hours of alcohol and drug education within the past five years. CPR certification preferred.
- New Jersey Requirement: Each substance abuse counselor must be either an LCADC or CADC or another licensed health professional working within their scope of practice. CADC must work under the supervision of an LCADC or a New Jersey licensed clinical professional. Counseling staff without LCADC or CADC status shall function as interns and pursue certification under supervision.

- Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
- Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics, and team building.
- Knowledge of alcohol, addictive drugs and their impacts on the individual and family.
- Ability to determine medical emergencies and take appropriate action.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures for alcohol or drug overdose.
- Knowledge of withdrawal stages and appropriate action at each stage.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal laws and regulations regarding treatment, including confidentiality, patient rights, professional code of ethics, and discrimination.
- Knowledge of airborne and blood‑borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and use of universal precautions.

- Actively participates in interdisciplinary treatment plan meetings.
- Shares pertinent information with the team obtained from the client's family or others as indicated.
- Attends daily and weekly staffing meetings per schedule.
- Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions on the therapeutic milieu.
- Facilitates group therapy.
- Performs individual therapy with client/family.
- Documents assessment of client progress and interventions in the medical record on an ongoing basis.
- Recognizes, responds to, and assists in psychiatric crisis situations and provides necessary intervention.
- Responds and assists in medical emergency situations as directed.
- Communicates effectively with client, staff, and physician.
- Provides clients with education and instruction on Advance Directives.
- Attends and participates in monthly program staff meetings.
- Adheres to policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Protects the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies and practices and relevant law; failure to comply may result in disciplinary action up to termination.
- Accords access to PHI and other patent information only as necessary to perform duties; may share only with those who have a need to know.
- Expected to report any concerns about privacy policies without retaliation.
