Clarion Psychiatric Center offers inpatient treatment for adults with moderate to severe psychiatric problems, inpatient crisis stabilization for children and adolescents, and a Partial Hospitalization Program for school-aged children. Our recently expanded 112-bed inpatient program has 4 units. Job Specifications

• Must demonstrate competency in the listed criteria. Flexibility for re-assignment to units serving varied populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Follow all facility policies and procedures.

Education

Masters Degree in Social Service field required.

License/Certification

Not required.

Experience

Inpatient/outpatient psychiatric experience preferred. Experience in individual and group therapy.

Knowledge/Skills

Understanding of family dynamics, casework, interpersonal relationships, social policy, therapeutic relationships, growth and development, behavior management, crisis intervention, and effective communication.

Supervision

• Exercised: None
• Received: Director of Clinical Services/PI

Work Environment

Hospital setting with some risk involved due to patient behaviors. Exposure to infectious diseases and conditions. Well-lit, ventilated, and subject to interruptions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively, lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, participate in crisis prevention, and pass drug screening. Reasonable accommodations available.
