Job summary

Passavant Memorial Homes in Natrona Heights, PA is seeking compassionate Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) for full-time weekend block shifts (Sat, Sun, Mon) with overnight on-call at residences. A $6,000 sign-on bonus is available for full-time positions.

These roles provide one-on-one support to individuals with ID, autism, and mental health needs in home or community settings, including meals, medications, and transportation.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years.
• Two years experience with children with ID or mental health.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (transcripts required). OR Associate degree with 60 credit hours and four years experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services and daily living activities.
• Assist individuals to maximize independence.
• Develop and implement the individual support plan.
• Ensure safety and well-being of individuals.
• Assist and encourage participation in home and community activities.
• Observe behaviors and document changes; report accordingly.
• Administer medications after certification; training provided.
• Maintain records and perform housekeeping duties.

Passavant Memorial Homes is currently seeking responsible, caring, and dedicated people to fill full-time Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) positions in the Natrona Heights area. Available full-time positions consist of Weekend Block Shifts (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). Block Shifts are a condensed work week and require staying overnight at the residence in an on-call capacity.

Therapeutic Staff Support positions play a crucial role in fulfilling the mission of Passavant Memorial Homes by providing quality support services one-on-one with children and adults in the home or community setting. This includes activities such as preparing meals, administering medication, and providing transportation to work or community activities. To be successful in this role, you must be compassionate, motivated to help others, and dedicated to providing quality support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE THERAPEUTIC STAFF SUPPORT (TSS):

• Provide direct care services and specialized care in daily living, social and recreational activities.
• Provide assistance and support to foster maximum independence of individuals.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the individual support plan.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals.
• Assist and encourage individuals to engage in various activities in the home and community.
• Observe individuals’ behaviors and changes in physical condition, utilize prescribed strategies to assist the individual, and document and report accordingly.
• Administer medications (upon completion of certification; all necessary training is provided).
• Maintain various records regarding individuals.
• Perform needed housekeeping and cleaning duties (home and vehicle).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE THERAPEUTIC STAFF SUPPORT (TSS):

• Minimum of 21 years of age, required.
• Valid driver’s license, required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field(Official transcripts must be supplied), required.
• Two years experience working with children with ID or mental health, required.

OR

• Associates degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in a related field(Official transcripts must be supplied), required.
• Four years experience working with children with ID or mental health, required.
