Job summary

Devereux, in partnership with PLEA School in Homestead, PA, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for its School Based Partial Hospital Program. The role focuses on implementing IEPs, delivering instruction, and supporting behavioral health within a therapeutic classroom.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to tailor supports to each student’s academic, social, and daily living goals, following the school calendar for the remainder of 2025/2026.

Qualifications

• Understanding and agreement with the philosophy and objectives of the PLEA school
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Highly motivated to work with special needs population and their families
• Strong knowledge of child development, therapeutic interventions, and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt to changes
• Maturity, reliability, and sound judgement
• Degree in Special Education
• PA Special Education Certification or Private Academic License
• Experience working in special education environment
• ACT 33, ACT 34, and FBI Fingerprint Clearances
• PA Mandated Reporter Training
• Must be 18 years or older

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and mental health support in a therapeutic classroom setting
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for academic, social, and daily living skills development
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide an integrated and comprehensive program of support to meet the unique needs of each student
