Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to provide age-appropriate care for patients from newborn to 20 years old within the rehabilitation program.

You will develop and implement programs addressing play, leisure, and developmental needs, helping patients participate in community activities while working as part of the rehab team to ensure safe care.

Qualifications

1 year of experience in rehabilitation or therapeutic recreation.
Experience in pediatric rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury preferred.
CTRS certification and BLS within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements a program to address play/leisure and developmental needs of rehabilitation patients.
Enable patients to participate in leisure and recreational activities within their community.
Functions effectively as a member of the rehabilitation team and supports safe patient care.

Provides the highest quality age-appropriate care for patients newborn to 20 years of age within the scope of practice and established standards for therapeutic recreation. Functions effectively as a member of the rehabilitation team. Supports the mission of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Develops and implements a program to address the play/leisure and developmental needs of rehabilitation patients focusing on enabling the patient to participate in leisure and recreational activities within their community. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
