Job summary

Summit Healthcare Mgmt is seeking an Activity Therapist in Leland, NC to plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation as part of patients’ treatment plans. You will assess needs, organize activities across physical, social, and creative domains, and ensure safety and quality of care on-site.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, CPR/CTRS or related certification, and 1+ year healthcare recreation experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 1+ year of recreation experience in a healthcare setting.
• CTRS or certification in expressive therapy area or LCPC/LPC licensure with relevant certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements and evaluates therapeutic recreation activities per treatment plan.
• Performs patient assessments via interviews to tailor programs.
• Coordinates activities and maintains a safe environment for patients.
• Documents assessments and progress notes in a timely manner.
• Maintains departmental resources and equipment.
• Helps patients develop social skills and independence.
