Job summary

The City of Lakewood is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Intern to assist in providing goal-oriented leisure programs for individuals with disabilities. Interns will gain valuable experience while fulfilling university educational requirements in a supportive environment.

This internship will empower candidates to work directly with diverse populations, enhance their leadership skills, and complete a special project that impacts the community-based Therapeutic Recreation program.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
• General understanding of different disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing programs for individuals with disabilities.
• Conduct assessments and identify goals for participants.
• Monitor program registrations and participant feedback.

Current senior undergraduate or graduate student in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
