Job summary

IQVIA Biotech is seeking a strategic Project Delivery Head to oversee global therapeutic program delivery. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive governance, manage risks, and ensure financial and client success across CNS, CV, renal, and metabolic programs.

In this role, you will partner with the Therapeutic Area Head to translate strategy into execution, govern portfolios, and champion delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field with 15+ years of clinical research leadership.

We’re excited to announce an internal opportunity for a Therapeutic Project Delivery Head role supporting global clinical programs, specifically in CNS, CV, Renal, Metabolic.

About the Role The Project Delivery Head provides strategic leadership and oversight for delivery across the Therapeutic Area portfolio. This role ensures successful execution of customer commitments through effective portfolio governance, cross-functional integration, proactive risk management, and project management excellence. Partnering closely with the Therapeutic Area Head, the Project Delivery Head translates business strategy into operational execution, driving consistency, predictability, and performance across all studies and programs within the portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Governance & Delivery Performance

• Oversee portfolio health across studies, customers, and programs within the Therapeutic Area.
• Monitor delivery performance, portfolio risks, customer commitments, and financial outcomes.
• Drive portfolio prioritization and trade-off decisions to optimize delivery success.
• Lead portfolio reviews and implement actions to address systemic issues or performance gaps.

Cross-Functional Delivery Leadership

• Align Project Management, Operational Oversight, Clinical Delivery, Start-Up, and Project Coordination teams around common delivery objectives.
• Ensure consistent delivery practices, operational standards, and customer experiences across the portfolio.
• Remove barriers and resolve cross-functional challenges impacting successful delivery.

Customer & Business Leadership

• Serve as a senior delivery leader during customer governance meetings, portfolio reviews, bidder discussions, and escalations.
• Support development of delivery strategies for proposals, bid defenses, and growth opportunities.
• Partner with Therapeutic Area leadership to ensure operational readiness and successful execution of customer commitments.

Financial & Risk Oversight

• Monitor portfolio financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and revenue realization opportunities.
• Proactively identify portfolio-level risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Drive accountability for delivery excellence, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.

Project Management Excellence

• Champion best practices in planning, forecasting, risk management, issue management, change control, and financial management.
• Utilize portfolio dashboards and performance metrics to drive proactive decision making.
• Promote consistency in project management standards, tools, and methodologies.

Leadership & Capability Development

• Coach and mentor Operational Oversight leaders and other delivery professionals.
• Build an environment focused on accountability, customer centricity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support organizational transformation initiatives and adoption of new ways of working.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $120,400.00 - $477,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
