Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to assist in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients, and to craft meals for staff and visitors. The role supports patient well-being and requires attention to food safety guidelines and timely meal service.

You'll join a nationwide inpatient rehabilitation leader focused on compassionate care, with opportunities for training and a supportive team environment in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Qualifications

• Possession of a food handler's permit, if mandated by state or county regulations.
• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets preferred.
• Recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients.
• Prepare meals for employees, visitors and special functions.
• Maintain proper temperature for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret recipes and follow orders and instructions.
• Assemble and deliver patient trays and supplements as needed.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish foods according to menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas and manage time effectively.
