Job summary

Viridian Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Director to lead and evaluate our activities program, meeting residents' social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs in accordance with state and federal regulations.

You will schedule and supervise activities seven days a week, ensure cognitive, recreational, and ADL activities, oversee transportation, safety, and the resident council, and participate in policy development, training, and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or registered by the state where practicing.
• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990.
• Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program.
• Is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
• Has completed a training course approved by the State.

Responsibilities

• Directs the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program.
• Contributes to and/or directs the comprehensive care plan goals and approaches tailored to each resident.
• Schedules activities for individuals and groups, implements recreational, educational, cultural and arts programs, and monitors responses.
• Oversees the establishment and operation of a Resident Council with documentation such as meeting minutes.
• Performs administrative functions, orientation, policy development, staff training, and budget collaboration to ensure quality care.
• Oversees the facility’s Beauty Shop schedule and related activities.
• Maintains a monthly calendar of activities written in large print and posted for residents and visitors.
• Attends Care Plan meetings and participates in QAPI and Behavior Management committees.
• Ensures safety, compliance with policies, and documentation of performance and training requirements.
