Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mental health field or recreational therapy preferred.
• One year hospital experience in mental health or related area or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises group activities.
• Organizes and arranges group activities.
• Contributes to multidisciplinary treatment plan.
• Counsels and shares educational information with patients.
• Verbally communicates events to appropriate staff.
• Determines program needs and purchases supplies with Clinical Director.
• Participates in treatment teams on a rotating basis with Clinical Director.
• Counsels patients in selection of activities meeting leisure item needs and interests.
• Meets with Clinical Director as needed.
• Communicates with unit leaders; shares patient information and concerns.
• Performs CQI activities.
• Assists in preparation of activity portion of budget.
• Maintains patient care competency per age-specific needs of the population.
