Job summary

Diocese of Tucson seeks a Theology/Religion Teacher at San Miguel High School in Tucson, AZ. The teacher will support the Catholic mission, provide instruction in theology, and maintain professional conduct and confidentiality.

Candidates must hold a state teaching certificate for Arizona, complete a bachelor’s degree or higher, and be able to work evenings or weekends as needed, while modeling Gospel values in a multicultural school community.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills including written, oral, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Be available for evening and weekend work as necessary; have reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in the use of computer technology including word processing and the use of excel and related technology; ability to maintain confidentiality.

• The following core competencies are expected and constitute the framework on which evaluations are made in the interview process: Instructional planning and preparation, Content knowledge in theology/religious studies along with pedagogical knowledge in instructional practice at the secondary level, Knowledge of adolescent development related to the field of theology and religious studies.
