Job summary

Abacus Staffing is hiring Scenic Carvers at various levels in Orlando to craft high-quality themed environments using concrete, plaster, epoxy, foam, and urethanes. Carvers progress from I (Entry) to IV (Expert) with safety and craftsmanship at the core.

Weekly pay and long-term opportunities are offered. Ideal candidates have backgrounds in scenic art, plaster work, or related fields and are willing to learn and adapt to project needs.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in scenic art, plaster work, or related fields.
• 4–10 years of experience in the theming industry as a Scenic Artist or Carver.
• 8–10 years of extensive experience in the theming industry.
• 10+ years of advanced experience as a Scenic Artist or Carver within the theming industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
• Work with concrete, plaster, epoxy, foam, urethanes, and silicone materials.
• Assist with job site setup and cleanup.
• Learn proper concrete mixing techniques and material applications.
• Perform shaping, scratching, texturing, and carving techniques.
• Learn waterproofing systems and material disposal procedures.
• Use mason tools, hopper guns, drill mixers, pressure washers, and shop vacuums.
• Create texture pads and assist with specialty finishing work.
