Job summary

Galveston College is seeking a Part-Time Technical Theatre Lab Assistant to support lighting, sound, and carpentry for Theater Department productions on Galveston Island, TX. You will assist faculty and students with installing lighting fixtures, sound equipment, and scenic elements, while maintaining equipment and inventory.

Responsibilities include maintenance of lighting and sound gear and helping with setup and teardown for performances. A.A.

Qualifications

• Experience with theatrical production prep methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of lighting and audio control equipment.
• Ability to operate power tools used in stage carpentry.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists faculty and students in the installation and programming of lighting fixtures for Theater Department productions.
• Assists faculty and students in the installation of sound equipment for Theater Department productions.
• Assists faculty and students in the construction of scenic elements requiring carpentry.
• Cleans and performs maintenance on theater lighting and sound equipment.
• Assists with inventory and equipment maintenance. Performs related duties as required.
